Introducing... Bree

Today, I’m introducing you to… Bree of the Makeup Bag Teen Corner. She’s 19 years old, and Japanese, Caucasian, Hawaiian and Filipino. You can check out her blog here: http://makeupbag.net/teen-corner

1. What's your skin care regimen?
I use boots four in one cleansing wipes which are so moisturizing.
I dont really need to do anything else- although my mom is always after me to moisturize and wear sunscreen.

2. Who are your beauty inspirations?
I am inspired by pictures in magazines, or people on the streets.
I find beauty inspiration everywhere- not just in people who are famous.

3. What are your beauty insecurities?
When I was little, I always wished that I could have blonde hair and blue eyes, but now I know my look is unique and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

4. What's your beauty philosophy?
No matter how pretty you are on the outside, all that matters is what’s within. A great smile and laugh makes everyone look better.

5. Your mom is Erika of The Makeup Bag, what have you learned from her?
My mom really takes care of her skin. She always moisturizes and exfoliates. Wherever we go, people always think we are sisters. So, I guess I've learned that taking good care of your skin really pays off.

6. What's your favorite:
Lipstick- I am definetly not a lipstick girl, but I love my gloss. MAC Underage is my current favorite. It looks good with my skin color and dark hair.

Eyeshadow- NARS Night Flight is a hot shimmery blue/black. I use it almost everyday.

Blush- I don’t usually wear blush but I wear bronzer everyday- Physicians Formula has great ones.

Foundation- Having a mom with a makeup website means I get to try tons of cool products. Lancome has a great tinted moisturizer called Aqua Fusion that I love so much.

Anything else you can't live without-
I can't live without black eyeliner. I go through it like crazy. One i've tried recently that is awesome is Maybelline Unstoppable Waterproof Eyeliner- it lasts ALL day.

La Roche- Posay in the USA

I was at CVS the other day, picking up some sunscreen, and was pleasantly surprised to see- gasp- La Roche-Posay! La Roche-Posay offers a complete range of highly effective, dermo-cosmetic skin care products that are combined with La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water, the only water rich in antioxidant Selenium. The sales lady told me that after it's debut on Oprah, the Anthelios SX Daily Moisturizing Cream with Sunscreen ($29) was flying off the shelves! They've been selling 600 tubes a day. Well, that could be because Anthelios and Lancome's new UV Expert 20 Sunscreen with Mexoryl SX ($35) are the only two sunscreens proven to fight skincancer, using Mexoryl SX. What in the world is Mexoryl SX you ask? It's the most effective FDA-approved organic filter that protects against short UVA rays with high photostability (which means it will maintain higher UVA protection and not degrade as quickly when exposed to sun.) Anthelios SX is on sale at local CVS's Nationwide, for $24, plus you get a little travel kit.

Face Paint

Summer reminds me of... pools, fairs, the 4th of July and face paint. The coolest, most sophisticated version of it comes from Make Up For Ever.

Flash Color ($17) is a full coverage, thick special effect color cream. It can be mixed with foundation or be applied in layers and then set with powder. Available in deep red cream, metallic silver, metallic gold, bright pink, deep bluish purple, bright kelly green, black cream, white cream, flourescent orange, vibrant yellow, dark navy blue, bright royal blue, light gray cream, vibrant red, pale mint green, metallic copper, light periwinkle blue, coral cream and deep ruby red.

Aquarelle ($18) is a light but highly pigmented liquid that can be used as a bright liquid eyeliner or a sheer eye shadow wash. This is perfect for painting on tatoos. Available in metallic copper, pearlized violet, pearlized pink, pearlized teal green, pearlized silver and pearlized teal blue.

Lipstick ($18) is long lasting and mositurizing, in Pearly (silky with subtle shimmer), Cream (creamy with glossy finish), Transparent (sheer and natural) and Matte (intense, powdery color.) Available in too many shades for me to list.

Top this off with a little (or a lot) of Glitter ($13). These lightweight, super fine sparkles can be applied with a wet brush to the face. For body or hair, spray the area with water, sprinkle glitter into your hand and then blow it onto the damp area.

Lip Balm Slumber Party

Lip balm has covered a lot of bases over the years, and now it's covering even more. ChapStick's Overnight Lip Treatment ($3.99) is a skin protectant lip balm containing 8 different moisturizers (including Aloe, Vitamin A and Vitamin E.) It conditions and treats lips while you get your beauty sleep. This had been the original overnight formula until Bourjois recently released Baume de Nuit Night Lip Balm ($10). It's a slightly pink tinted, creamy and emollient balm that restores lips all night long.

Liptones

DuWop's new Liptones Retractable Liner ($18) is a moisturizing, creamy and highly pigmented lip pencil that contains vitamins E and C. This James Bond like tool is packaged in a sleek pink case and is retractable. Perfect alone, to enhance the color of lips or pair it with a lipstick or gloss for longer lasting color. Available in Area (deep plum-based neutral), Tempo (taupe-based neutral), Melody (pink-based neutral) and Cadence (pale peach-based neutral.)

Pom Madness

My new go-to lip balm, Burt's Bees Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil ($3) is a new version of my old one. I still absolutely adore the original Burt's Bees Lip Balm, with its fresh pepperminty scent and tingly sensation when applied. When I was in the store, I was torn between the two new balms, Honey Lip Balm and the Pomegranate one, and went with the latter. This replenishes and hydrates lips with pomegranate oil. It's 99.6% natural and the pom oil provides a slightly glossy, pink finish.

Candy Paint

Carol's Daughter has provided luxurious, organic bath, hair and body products to celebrities for years. Luckily, you don't need to have the salary of a celebrity to afford the stuff. Everything on the menu looks delectable. Mimosa Hair Honey ($15.50), Love Butter ($18) and Almond Cookie Sea Salt Body Scrub ($25) top the list. The "next big thing" is going to be the Candy Paint Lip Gloss ($13.50). It contains Shea Butter, Grape Seed Oil, Vitamin E and even Aloe Vera. It's also paraben-, mineral oil- and petroleum-free (which is actually really great because it's important we don't waste our precious fossil fuels in things like our makeup!) Available in 12 bronzes, browns and pinks; only at Sephora.

A Matte Urban Decay

Urban Decay is really doing bad things to my bank account. We're going to skip the wide array of candy-colored liquid liners and go straight onto the Matte Eyeshadow Intense Shadow ($16). These soft, pigment-rich shadows are low in binders, so it never looks chalky. Available in a varied range of colors, in the signature subway token pot, now with a gunmetal finish. I want to try Illegal (matte mauve) and Cult (matte dark purple). At least I'll have some time to save up some money between now and when they finally come out on July 15.
